DAY 1 Welcome to Uluru Ayers Rock

Feel the spirit of the Red Centre as you fly into Uluru Ayers Rock today. You will be transferred from Ayers Rock Airport to your hotel. Relax and spend the rest of the day making use of the hotels facilities or take a short stroll around Ayers Rock Resort.

DAY 2 Uluru Ayers Rock Sunset Tour & Bush Yarn Experience

This morning, visit the “Circle of Sand” at Ayers Rock Resort. Learn about Aboriginal history and culture by an Indigenous storyteller. Learn about traditional bush tucker or an Indigenous man’s survival kit including weapons such as spears, clubs and boomerangs.

This afternoon, spend time relaxing before you get ready for your special Uluru Sunset tour. You will be picked up from Ayers Rock Resort and taken to iconic Uluru for a special 5 hour experience. Enjoy a drive around the base of Uluru and visit Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent channel of water within the contours of this icon. Enjoy sparkling wine and gourmet treats while you take in the majesty of a sunset at Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the backdrop. Later you will be transferred back to Ayers Rock Resort.

DAY 3 Dot Painting Workshop, Astro-Hub & Astronomy Session & Sunset Camel Ride

Enjoy a leisurely start to your day before getting an introduction to Western Indigenous Art. The “Dot Painting Workshop” is your opportunity to learn about the different symbols used to depict Creation Time stories from local Indigenous artists and to create your own “Dot Painting” to take home as a memento.

The remoteness of this desert location reveals a truly remarkable night sky. Enjoy an afternoon to relax before finding out more about astronomy and the cosmos. Enjoy an interactive astronomy session at the Astro-Hub hosted by the resident astronomer. Learn more about the stars, planets, galaxy, Big Bang theory and cosmos with a special screening of “Capturing the Cosmos”. The documentary, narrated by Geoffery Rush, reveals the most cutting edge research on dark energy and is written and directed by astronomer Dr Tanya Hill (Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for All-sky Astrophysics). Following the screening, engage in a Q&A session with the resident astronomer.

This evening, get picked up from Ayers Rock Resort and enjoy a 1 hour camel ride through the desert with the sun setting behind spectacular Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Learn about the flora and fauna of the region from your experienced cameleers before returning to the camel farm to enjoy a selection of beverages and freshly baked beer bread damper. Truly an experience of a lifetime!

Wander through the fully working saddlery where all of the camel saddles are handmade. Discover 130 years of history surrounding camels and the Afghan cameleers and their pivotal role in opening up the outback in the ‘Staging Post’, including a fully restored Cobb and Co stagecoach. See the camel race track, home of the Uluru Camel Cup and trophies won from all over Australia. Meet the outback cameleers, hear their stories and most importantly fall in love with the “rock” star camels. You will leave with lifelong memories of the outback and have a new found respect for camels.

The Dot Painting Workshop is unavailable during Dec-Feb, enjoy a day at leisure during those months.

DAY 4 Kata Tjuta Olgas Sunrise Tour, Museum Tour & Special "Sounds of Silence" Dinner

Enjoy an early pick up this morning and travel into the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park to view a spectacular sunrise over the 36 domes that comprise Kata Tjuta or “The Olgas”. Enjoy an outback picnic breakfast on the Western side of Kata Tjuta before continuing to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind that whistles between the massive domes of Kata Tjuta. Learn about the cultural significance of this sacred site before taking a stroll through this geological formation and learning about the environment that shaped this massive conglomerate of rock domes. Following this special 5 hour experience you will be transferred back to Ayers Rock Resort.

This afternoon enjoy a short tour of the Wintjiri Museum and learn about the region’s unique ecology and fauna endemic to the region. Learn about the Anangu land conservation and management processes before getting a brief historical overview of the area, dating back 30,000 years from Aboriginal habitation to the settlement of early European explorers.

Get picked up from Ayers Rock Resort and be transferred to the special viewing area overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for your delicious 3 course “Sounds of Silence” dinner under the outback sky with Uluru in the background.

Enjoy a quality selection of Australian wine and beer with your first course before helping yourself to a bush tucker inspired buffet dinner incorporating native bush ingredients. Learn about the southern night sky and the planets and galaxies that are visible due to the exceptional clarity of the outback atmosphere from the resident star talker as well as a didgeridoo performance.

DAY 5 Tour from Uluru Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon

Relax and enjoy some free time this morning, before being picked up from Ayers Rock Resort to start your afternoon tour to Kings Canyon. Learn about the key landmarks from your informative guide along the way. Pass Atila (Mt. Conner), a large flat topped mountain rising over 300 metres often mistaken for Uluru.

Depending on time, you may be able to stop at Carmichaels Crag to view the sunset before arriving at Kings Canyon Resort before dusk.

DAY 6 Explore Kings Canyon

This morning get picked up from Kings Canyon Resort and tour to experience the majesty of Kings Canyon, in the heart of Watarrka National Park. You can choose to take part in either the Canyon Rim Walk or the walk along the Creek Bed.

Enjoy a hike to the rim of the Canyon (good level of fitness required) for remarkable views over the National Park. Marvel at the chasms, cliffs, sandstone walls and grottos along this 6 kilometre climb. Between the sandstone cliffs, be amazed by “The Garden of Eden”, a natural spring waterhole surrounded by exotic plants and trees including prehistoric ferns which make this truly a remarkable landscape.

Alternatively, if you are looking at something more relaxed, you can choose to do the Creek Bed Walk which is a 2 kilometre walk along the creek bed with impressive views of the canyon rim.

DAY 7 Tour from Kings Canyon to Uluru Ayers Rock & "Field of Light" VIP Pass

This morning get picked up from your Kings Canyon accommodation and tour back to Ayers Rock Resort with informative commentary along the way. You will reach Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon and have time to get ready for your special dinner this evening.

This evening, get ready for a once in a lifetime opportunity. The world renowned “Field of Lights” installation is artist Bruce Munro’s largest creation to date and features 50,000 slender stems topped with radiant frosted glass spheres spread over an area of seven football fields in the foreground of Uluru.

Get picked up from Ayers Rock Resort and transferred to a remote desert location for your VIP “Field of Light” experience. Enjoy special VIP access and a range of outback canapés, sparkling wine and beers while you watch the colours change as the sun sets and the stems illuminate and your host provides you an insight into this magnificent art piece. Experience a 45 minute self-guided walk through this immense piece of art before ascending a dune to get a panoramic view of this world famous installation.
