DAY 3 Barossa Valley with Special Lunch

Head to the Adelaide Hills to explore one of Australia’s best and most famous wine-producing regions – the Barossa Valley. Regarded as one of the finest wine regions in the world, the Barossa is home to Australia's most expensive wine, Penfolds Grange. Enjoy your delicious Special Lunch at a renowned winery restaurant, including tastings, winemaking tour and wine education. Explore some of the quaint and charming villages in the Adelaide Hills, part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. See the heavy influence of the original German settlers, such as buildings with steeply sloping roofs, Lutheran stone churches and try the local versions of Germanic cuisine. Visit Hahndorf, the beautiful Lutheran settlement dating back to 1838, with its arts, crafts, cottage industry shops, pubs, traditional small goods and bakeries that evoke the tastes and smells of Bavaria.

Leaving Adelaide, we begin our enchanting journey northwards to the world-renowned Barossa wine region. Watch as the scenery transforms before your eyes as we meander our way through the bucolic vineyards of South Australia’s premium wine district. Discover the art of great winemaking on your 'Behind the Scenes' guided tour of Jacob’s Creek Wines, housed in a charming historic chateau. Enjoy a tutored wine tasting incorporating introductory wine education, view the original winery built in 1897 with traditional winemaking equipment, be taken on a tour of the surrounding vines and cellar door, and then enjoy morning tea as you overlook the postcard perfect vineyards.

Experience the panoramic views over the Barossa Valley from Mengler's Hill lookout, before enjoying a fascinating wine tasting followed by a delicious two-course lunch at Lambert Estate in Angaston. After lunch, we leave the Barossa behind, as our path leads us through the historic Adelaide Hills, a region brimming with country charm. Along the way, we encounter the Herbig Family Tree in Springton, whose hollowed trunk provided a ‘home’ for Friedrich and Caroline Herbig, along with their 16 children, until 1860. Next, we visit Beerenberg Farm Shop, where history and tradition thrive. Explore the shop, overflowing with Beerenberg's products and local treasures, each one carrying a piece of the region's heritage.

DAY 5 Victor Harbor & the Fleurieu Peninsula

The Fleurieu Peninsula is a holiday playground of wineries, seaside towns and lakes whose population trebles during holiday periods. The splendid seaside resort township of Victor Harbor is where the mouth of the massive Murray River finally meets the ocean. The old paddle-steamer port of Goolwa is on Lake Alexandrina, near the Murray Mouth and is joined by a bridge to Hindmarsh Island.

Tour through the Mt Lofty Ranges with its many quaint villages and panoramic views. Stop at historic Strathalbyn on the Angas River – a delightful town adorned with antique stores, markets, bakeries, and cafes – the perfect place to find some indulgent morning tea. Pass through the Currency Creek wine region on route to the river Port of Goolwa (where the Murray River meets the lakes and sea) to enjoy a brief tour around the wharf, barrage and beach areas, before travelling on to Port Elliot, Horseshoe Bay and Victor Harbor. Today explore the iconic West MacDonnell Ranges that form the dramatic ochre red back-drop to Alice Springs, including Simpson’s Gap, Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek,Big Hole and Ormiston Gorge. This amazing Central Australian geological feature has many hidden treasures for you to discover.

Travel west on Larapinta Drive, passing the John Flynn Memorial (foot of the Mt Gillen), see what remains of the twin ghost gums (famous painting by Albert Namatjira). Stop at Simpsons Gap with its beautiful permanent water hole, admire Standley Chasm (amazing red cleft that glows) for whilst enjoying a delicious morning tea and perhaps walk into the spellbinding Chasm (Angkerle Creek bed). Visit the Ochre Pits to admire the vivid colours of the mineral walls – mined for generations by the Arrernte people of the region. Today you will discover Litchfield, including Florence Falls, the termite mounds, Wangi Falls and Tolmer Falls with the opportunity to take a dip in refreshing natural plunge pools bordered by magnificent pandanus palms.

We skirt Francis Bay on Darwin Harbour and head south out of Darwin on the Stuart Highway to Litchfield National Park. Visit Florence Falls (stunning views, perhaps walk down to the plunge pool for a swim in this beautiful oasis), see monsoon forests and woodland areas on an Interpretive Guided Walk, take a walk to Tolmer Falls (breathtaking valley with a waterfall, home to colonies of rare ghost and orange horseshoe bats, and distant views toward the coast over cattle stations), enjoy lunch surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Litchfield, visit Wangi Falls and the large enticing plunge pool (perhaps take a dip or a stroll through lush tropical forest or relax and just take it all in), stop at the Meridien Termite Mounds (learn about Cathedral and Magnetic Termite Mounds). DAY 18 Jumping Crocodiles Luxury Day Tour

Enjoy some free-time this morning to explore Darwin before you set off for an exciting afternoon.

Travel inland to cruise a section of the Adelaide River and witness saltwater crocodiles close up as they leap out of the water to snatch their food. The Adelaide River starts in Litchfield National Park and is well known for its high concentration of saltwater crocodiles, along with other wildlife including white-bellied sea eagles, whistling kites, freshwater crocodiles, bull sharks and the black flying-fox. An excellent opportunity to observe these primeval creatures as you cruise along the Adelaide River.

Today you will cruise the Adelaide River in crocodile infested waters, watch as your guide entices massive wild saltwater crocodiles to jump and snatch their food (witnessing crocodiles up close). Experience the ultimate thrill as these magnificent creatures leap out of the water with sheer power and grace - creating a profound sense of excitement and awe that will stay with you forever.

Enjoy a stop at Howard Springs, for a chance to see barramundi and turtles. Today is an amazing adventure.

DAY 19 Kakadu Luxury Day Tour and Cruise

Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring wonders of Kakadu, the World Heritage jewel in the heart of the Top End wilderness. Nature's grandeur is showcased across 20,000 square kms of diverse ecosystems and dramatic landscapes. Bear witness to the remarkable rich cultural heritage of the Gagudju people, with rock art sites recording the profound Aboriginal connection to this sacred land spanning thousands of generations. Home to an incredible array of wildlife, Kakadu boasts over 2,000 plant species and hosts nearly a third of Australia's bird species.

As we journey to the park, see the Top End outback bush, eucalypts, palms and termite mounds. Travelling along the Arnhem Highway, soak up the beauty of the majestic Marrakai Plains, a vast expanse of pristine wilderness that creates a breathtaking tableau of natural beauty. Upon arrival to Kakadu National Park, take in the serenity and beauty that nature gifts in the Kakadu wetlands and visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn the stories and traditional ways of the beautiful Aboriginal people of Kakadu – the Bininj traditional owners. Take a 1.5 hour guided cruise on Yellow Water Billabong, spotting for saltwater crocodiles and colourful birdlife, including sea eagles, brolgas and tiny, brilliantly hued kingfishers. Marvel at Estuarine Crocodiles basking in the shallows and on the sandy banks. Enjoy a delicious lunch before taking a short guided walk to Nourlangie Rock to see ancient Aboriginal rock art.
