This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

DAY 4 Board Kimberley Quest II & Sail from Broome to Cape Leveque

The remote and beautiful Kimberley coast offers some of the most impressive views Australia has to offer, the majestic King George Falls, the world famous Horizontal Falls, remarkable Montgomery Reef and vast open bays stretching as far as the eye can see, marvel at dramatic outback landscapes that are steeped in ancient Aboriginal legend.

Today you will be personally met at your hotel and transferred to Broome Wharf to begin your cruise. Board the Kimberley Quest II for the start of your 10 day cruise of Western Australia’s spectacular Kimberley region. DAY 5 Buccaneer Archipelago, Dugong Bay & Talbot Bay

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and take in your first taste of the Kimberley as we cross the vast King Sound and cruise through the thousand islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago - a remote and rugged paradise graced with pristine turquoise waters, stunning rock formations, and a sense of untouched wilderness that awakens the explorer's spirit. Indulge in a swim in the magnificent freshwater pools of Dugong Bay as well as a scenic tender excursion before visiting Talbot Bay, home of the iconic Horizontal Falls.

A true icon of the Kimberley Coast, Horizontal Falls elicits a rush of exhilaration as you witness the sheer power and mesmerising beauty of the tidal currents gushing through narrow gorges. Take an exhilarating ride through this natural phenomenon, once described as “one of the greatest natural wonders of the world” by Sir David Attenborough, before taking another excursion along Cyclone Creek to view the amazing rock formations.

DAY 6 Surprise Falls & Secure Bay

Enjoy a relaxed morning before cruising to Surprise Falls for a refreshing swim. A hidden gem embraced by nature's splendour - dip into the cool, refreshing waters and feel the pure bliss amidst this pristine oasis. We then continue on to enter the enchanting realm of Secure Bay where nature's magical forces come alive. Watch the spectacular tidal movements of the region as you cruise through the many whirlpools that will leave you in utter amazement. Feel your heart race with each spectacle, captivated by the raw power of the Kimberley's untamed beauty. Embark on a scenic tender excursion and be spellbound by the vivid hues of ancient sandstone cliffs, painted with stories of time immemorial. Be touched by the breathtaking Kimberley Rose, a living testament to the resilience of life amidst this rugged landscape.

After lunch a new thrill awaits – your first taste of fishing in these bountiful waters, with the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of angling for Giant Trevally, Mackerel, Queenfish and Tuna.

DAY 7 Montgomery Reef, Sale River & Raft Point

Cruise to the mesmerising Montgomery Reef covering over 300 square kilometres - the largest inshore reef in Australia. Watch the spectacular waterfall effect as the tide falls and the reef seemingly rises out of the ocean before your eyes. Take a scenic tender to view the various marine species of the reef including turtles and sea birds. Later we explore the mighty Sale River taking an excursion upstream for a dip in the spring-fed forest pools. View ancient rock art from the tenders on the return journey before cruising towards Steep Island. We anchor below Raft Point where you can hike to the caves on top of the hill to view some of the finest Wandjina art in the Kimberley. Enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Kimberley Coast from the top of this stunning outcrop before returning to the Kimberley Quest II for the night.

DAY 8 Doubtful Bay, Red Cone Creek & Camden Sound

Cruise towards the renowned “Three Ways” for the excitement of Barramundi fishing and mud crabbing – a quintessential Kimberley experience - before we continue our journey to the alluring Ruby Falls, a hidden gem tucked away within the enchanting embrace of Red Cone Creek. Delight in the picturesque freshwater swimming hole adorned with delicate water lilies and smooth water-worn rocks - inviting you to surrender to the tranquillity of your surroundings. Next, we cruise through the peaceful humpback breeding sanctuary of Camden Sound, where you may be able to witness infant whales frolicking – a heartwarming scene that fills your soul with joy.

DAY 9 Camden Harbour & Rothsay Water

Embark on an early morning adventure to experience a choice of a thrilling pelagic fishing expedition or a guided search for famous Kimberley rock oysters. Afterward, we venture to the historic Camden Harbour, where the echoes of a 19th-century sheep farming endeavour by early European settlers still resonates. In this unforgiving landscape and harsh climate, the settlement met a bitter end - abandoned in less than two years.

This afternoon, our journey continues towards the enigmatic Rothsay Water. Here, in the presence of ancient wonders, we take a tender excursion to explore the captivating artistry of the Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) and Wandjina rock art – echoing a profound and mysterious past. Prepare to be moved by the legacy of the people who left their mark on these ancient rocks. Step inside these ancient galleries and bear witness to the two distinct rock art styles: the slender, elongated figures of the Gwion Gwion style and the round, enigmatic Wandjina style.

DAY 10 Prince Regent River, King Cascades & Cathedral Falls

Today we embark on a soul-stirring journey up the Prince Regent River. Be enthralled by the sheer beauty of this pristine waterway cutting through rugged sandstone cliffs and majestic gorges. As we reach the captivating Kings Cascade, a spring-fed waterfall enveloped in a lush haven of ferns and teeming with vibrant wildlife - prepare to have your senses brought to life. Climb above the cascades and feel a rush of exhilaration as you immerse yourself in the massive crystal clear pool. The view that awaits you—overlooking the magnificent Prince Regent River—is nothing short of breathtaking, a testament to the vast untouched wilderness frontier that surrounds you.

The Kimberley Quest II has been designed for relaxing and exploring the Kimberley coastline in complete comfort and style.

Your custom-built vessel is fully air-conditioned, equipped with a helipad, spa, large en-suited cabins and offers indoor and outdoor alfresco areas so there will always be plenty of room to take in the panoramic scenery and breathtaking sunsets.
