DAY 1 Fly to Wellington

On the southerly tip of New Zealand’s north island, Wellington is a compact city of just over 200 000 people. In the heart of Wellington, there is a picturesque waterfront promenade and sandy beaches only 10 minutes’ drive away. The iconic red cable car goes from the city streets up the hillside to the Botanic Gardens, carrying locals and visitors for 100 years

DAY 2 Explore Wellington

A relaxing start to your day, familiarize yourself with the city and explore the sights and sounds, perhaps grab a bite to eat in Hannah’s Laneway, the self-proclaimed tastiest laneway in the world, full of boutique eateries. In the evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers at the Welcome Reception and dinner.

DAY 3 Wellington to Rotorua

Leaving Wellington, travel north along the Kapiti Coast and towards Mt. Ruapehu, an active volcano in the World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park. Journey along the shores of Lake Taupo, formed in the basin of a collapsed volcano and is approximately the same size as Singapore. Get out and stretch your legs at Huka Falls and see the powerful currents of the river funneling through the 20m wide gorge and cascade into the blue / green pool below. Continue on to Rotorua, known for Maori culture and natural beauty.

DAY 4 Explore Rotorua

The day starts with the multi-awarding winning Agrodome Farm Show, followed by an afternoon at your leisure. The evening brings fun, laughter and insight into the traditional Maori culture, followed by a delicious Hangi Highlight Dinner at the Tamaki Maori Village.

DAY 5 Rotorua to Auckland

Travel to Waitomo, known for their amazing Glowworm Grotto, and explore the subterranean caverns seeing first hand these luminescent glowworms. Once your eyes adjust above ground, it is back on the road to Auckland where you will have a guided tour around the city to see the highlights.

DAY 6 Auckland to Bay of Islands

Crossing the Harbour Bridge, say goodbye to Auckland as you travel north along the picturesque Hibiscus Coast. Arriving in Paihia, this seaside town is in the heart of the Bay of Islands. Weather permitting, cruise to Cape Brett, a promontory which extends north into the Pacific Ocean and where rugged cliffs rise out of the ocean. See the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’ formation, a natural passage through one of the rock islands. Cruise back to Paihia for a relaxing evening.

DAY 7 Explore Bay of Islands

Today, do as little or as much as you like with some free time to explore Bay of Islands. Enjoy the laidback pace and fresh sea air and explore the town.

Enjoy breakfast followed by some free time before hitting the road to walk amongst the giant Kauri trees in the Parry Kauri Park. Heading towards Auckland.

Time to say goodbye to New Zealand’s picturesque north island, your fellow travellers and friendly tour hosts. You will be transferred from your Auckland hotel to the airport to meet your flight home.
