DAY 2 Adelaide City Tour

Adelaide is famous for stylish architecture, beautiful parklands, boutique shopping, cafe strips, sandy swimming beaches, fabulous arts events, festivals, nightlife, and sandstone cottages with sweeping gardens. The diverse cultural mix of its population guarantees that the food is sensational. Adelaide is Australia's wine capital and lies between rolling hills to the east and beautiful sandy beaches to the west, with world class vineyards within easy reach.

Your friendly driver will pick you up in the comfortable air-conditioned luxury coach before sharing experiences, fascinating facts and enchanting stories in the onboard full commentary throughout the morning. Today see Victoria Square (heart of Adelaide City), Gouger Street (restaurant cafe strip), King William Street's famous boulevard, The Terraces (4 terraces that separate the city from its greenbelts) and Adelaide's magnificent parks, gardens and greenbelts. DAY 3 Explore Adelaide

Spend the day taking in the sights and surrounds of Adelaide. Visit the famous Adelaide Hills or spend the day exploring the churches, parks and famous museums and galleries of Adelaide.

Alternatively, you can visit the seaside town of Glenelg, famous for its beaches and many tourist attractions.

The choice is yours.

DAY 4 Board the Murray Princess and Cruise to Caurnamont

This afternoon enjoy a scenic drive by luxury coach to Mannum to begin your 8 day Murray Princess Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner as you cruise north towards Caurnamont. Look for nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank such as kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises and many other species as you enjoy music from your onboard entertainer and cruise under floodlight to your overnight mooring at Caurnamont.

DAY 5 Cruise from Caurnamont to Blanchetown

Take in the spectacular Murray River scenery at daybreak and watch for the prolific birdlife of the area including swans, pelicans and wrens. Enjoy a leisurely morning as you continue cruising north towards Blanchetown through one of the 13 locks that maintain the flow and water levels of the Murray River.

Arrive at your overnight mooring of Blanchetown this afternoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a guided tour of Burk Salter Wines vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting at the beautiful cellar door that is fitted out with red gum bars. Later we enjoy a delicious two course dinner – before the highly anticipated fun and excitement of the ‘Murray River Cup”.

DAY 6 Cruise from Blanchetown to Sunnydale

After breakfast cruise down river to Swan Reach, now home to native flower and fruit growers, the town was first settled in the 1850’s and was the largest of five sheep and cattle stations in the area.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the township and visit the Swan Reach Museum. Perhaps pause for a coffee or an ale at the original Swan Reach Homestead - now the Swan Reach Hotel. This afternoon we cruise south towards Sunnydale and immerse ourselves in the tranquillity of the River Murray landscapes. On arrival at our overnight mooring in Sunnydale, we step ashore to watch the Woolshed Show, an insight into typical Australian Woolshed history. Later, visit the Native Wildlife Shelter where you can see some of South Australia’s most interesting native animals, before enjoying a special barbecue dinner cooked and served on the banks of the Murray River. After dinner you may choose to take an optional nocturnal tour to look for wildlife.

DAY 7 Cruise from Sunnydale to Younghusband

This morning, enjoy an early morning bush walk with the Captain or you may choose to experience an optional Bush Tucker Breakfast. Cruise downriver to Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park while taking in views of the spectacular cliffs scoured by the river over millions of years.

Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park is one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites and home to the Nganguraku people who have lived there for at least 5000 years. Take a guided tour along the boardwalk to view ancient rock carvings and learn about the Aboriginal history of the area.

Later, return to the P.S. Murray Princess and continue cruising south to your overnight mooring, Younghusband. Enjoy a scenic tender boat ride along the way if you wish. Tonight savour a delicious dinner in the ambience of the Sturt Dining Room followed by an evening of entertainment.

DAY 8 Visit the Barossa Valley & Cruise to Murray Bridge

Leave Younghusband and cruise back to Mannum. After breakfast, tour to the Barossa Valley, Australia’s most famous wine region. Visit two premium wineries and enjoy a winery lunch before returning to the P.S. Murray Princess and cruising to your overnight mooring of Murray Bridge.

DAY 9 Visit Murray Bridge & Cruise to Salt Bush Flat

Today visit Murray Bridge, the township built at the site of the first bridge to cross the Murray River.

Murray Bridge lies 80km east of Adelaide, the fantastic climate lends itself to an outdoor lifestyle including water sports, fishing, boating, swimming, walking and hiking. A city situated in splendid scenic surrounds dotted with picturesque farms, Murray Bridge attractions include, Sturt Reserve, the Round House and Captain's Cottage Museum.

After a hearty breakfast, you could choose to explore the town’s landmarks and fascinating attractions or join the optional wildlife tour to Monarto Safari Park.

This afternoon, join a special presentation on the abundance of food and wine produced in the Riverland and then we continue our journey upriver where we moor for the night at Salt Bush Flat. After dinner, delight in the entertainment provided by the on-board musician.

DAY 10 Cruise to Piggy Flat/Coolcha

The Murray Riverlands are home to a wonderful and diverse variety of native plants and animals, gnarled red river gums dot the waters edge, mallee trees and native pines abound, the mighty river teems with fish including Murray cod and Australian smelt, small animals such as frogs, snakes and possums make the scenic riverbanks their home.

This morning experience a guided nature walk where your guide will share their wealth of knowledge about the local flora and fauna before we depart to cruise downriver. Just beyond Fromms Landing, we take a gentle turn and glide towards River View Lodge, nestled near the serene shores of Piggy Flat and Coolcha. Here, your adventure awaits aboard an exciting discovery vessel, ready to immerse you in the wonders of the Murray. As we embark on this intimate journey in small, personalised groups, we are surrounded by an enchanting maze of tranquil waters and lush landscapes. Keep your eyes peeled for the graceful darters, herons, and egrets as they dance along the river’s muddy edges.

The afternoon offers a choice to enjoy bocce or fishing challenges before joining your fellow cruise guests for your final delicious dinner in the Sturt Dining Room.

DAY 11 Return to Mannum & Fly Home
