DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful northwest. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

DAY 4 Broome to Cygnet Bay to board Kimberley Quest II

Be collected from your Broome hotel and transferred to the Kimberley Quest II for the start of your 4 day cruise of the Kimberley coast. Indulge in a delicious lunch as we glide across the enchanting waters of King Sound, surrounded by the thousand mesmerising islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. DAY 5 Cruise through Talbot Bay to Dugong Bay, Kingfisher Islands & Horizontal Falls

This morning, explore the mesmerising realm of Talbot Bay, home of the impressive Horizontal Falls. A true icon of the Kimberley Coast, Horizontal Falls elicits a rush of exhilaration as you witness the sheer power and mesmerising beauty of the tidal currents rushing through narrow gorges. Huge 12 metre tidal movements create a waterfall effect as they're forced through narrow cliff passages demonstrating the immense power of the Kimberley tides and a spectacular show of the beauty of nature. Take an exhilarating ride through this natural phenomenon, once described as “one of the greatest natural wonders of the world” by Sir David Attenborough – an awe inspiring, once in a lifetime experience.

Brace yourself for an unforgettable journey through Cyclone Creek, where towering rock formations stand as a testament to the spectacular creations of nature. Later, take a scenic tender around Dugong Bay, with the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing swim in one of the freshwater pools. As afternoon sets in, enjoy fishing for Giant Trevally, Mackerel, Tuna and Queenfish amidst the breathtakingly beautiful Kingfisher Islands.

DAY 6 Cruise to Montgomery Reef & Strickland Bay

Today, prepare to be swept away by the awe-inspiring wonders of the magical Montgomery Reef. Australia’s largest inshore reef covering more than 300 square kilometres, Montgomery Reef reveals a hidden world of cascading waterfalls and vibrant marine life. Witness the breathtaking transformation as this magnificent reef emerges from the depths of the Indian Ocean with the ebb of mammoth 11-metre tides. A symphony of rushing water unveils a mesmerising sight: a sprawling flat-topped reef adorned with enchanting rock pools and meandering rivulets. Take a tender excursion to experience this natural phenomenon up close. Discover the reef’s diverse marine life including turtles, manta rays, reef sharks and dugongs.

Immerse yourself in the enthralling dance of swirling eddies and captivating whirlpools, as the gravitational pull of the moon orchestrates this water-borne drama. The Kimberley Quest II has been designed for relaxing and exploring the Kimberley coastline in complete comfort and style.

Your custom-built vessel is fully air-conditioned, equipped with a helipad, spa, large en-suited cabins and offers indoor and outdoor alfresco areas so there will always be plenty of room to take in the panoramic scenery and breathtaking sunsets. Whilst on board take advantage of the extensive library, including a fantastic array of Kimberley reference books and general interest novels, otherwise sit with the Captain in the wheelhouse and learn more about the Kimberley outback.

Accommodating just 18 passengers and 7 crew, your holiday of a lifetime can be enjoyed with fellow travellers in luxurious and intimate surrounds.
