DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

DAY 2 Broome Town Tour

The perfect introduction to Broome, your half day tour of the township will take you to all of the major attractions and landmarks, including ancient rocky outcrops and the spectacular coastline. Hear about Broome’s heritage and how it shaped the town. Visit Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Gantheaume Point and Cable Beach.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a Pearling Master’s high tea and a Pearl Luggers Tour. Combining the historical and cultural influences of Broome, you’ll enjoy tea, coffee or a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by sweet and savoury treats.

DAY 3 Cable Beach Camel Ride

Broome is a vibrant and cosmopolitan town with a proud pearling history, the town is blessed with a fantastic climate and an abundance of stunning natural beauty, a visit to the Japanese Cemetery where perished Japanese pearl divers are interred brings home the human cost of Broome's colourful pearling history, other attractions include Cable Beach, Matso's Brewery and bustling Chinatown.

Enjoy a day in Broome at your leisure to explore at your own pace before your spectacular Cable Beach Camel Ride at sunset.

DAY 4 Broome, Tunnel Creek, Windjana Gorge

Windjana Gorge National Park covers over 2000 hectares and is located 145 km east of Derby in the ruggedly beautiful Kimberley region of WA, the park's main attraction is the dramatic gorge carved through the Napier Range by the Lennard River, the gorge's rugged walls rise to a height of some 100 metres offering an impressive sight.

Stop at Tunnel Creek before continuing to Windjana Gorge. Travel into the King Leopold Range National Park before arriving at Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge.

Travel inland towards Tunnel Creek and wade through the cool waters that fill the tunnels path with torch in hand and emerge on the other side to an oasis. Continue on to Windjana Gorge and admire the ancient fossils embedded in the gorge’s walls. Travel into the massive King Leopold Range National Park and arrive at Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge. Relax in your tented cabin for the next two nights.

DAY 5 Bell Gorge, Hiking and Swimming

Spend the day at Bell Gorge on the Gibb River Road.

Travel on the Gibb River Road to Bell Gorge and its stunning waterholes. Take a swim above the waterfall that feed the pool, go birdwatching or take a hike to the lower pool of the gorge.

DAY 6 Galvans Gorge, Manning Gorge, Drysdale River Station

Travel through the Kimberley to Galvan’s Gorge before continuing to Manning Gorge.

Travel through the Kimberley cattle country to Galvan’s Gorge and a picturesque waterhole. Admire the rock art of the gorge of take a swim before continuing on to Manning Gorge where you can enjoy lunch in the shade of a gum tree while birdwatching.

DAY 7 Mitchell Plateau, King Edward River, Bradshaw Art (Gwion Gwion)

Travel to the Mitchell Plateau, stop at the King Edward River, before reaching the Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge, your home for the next two nights.

Travel up Kalumburu road towards the Mitchell Plateau. Discover the Wandjina and Gwion Gwion art galleries which are up to 60,000 years old. Swim in the King Edward River before arriving at your accommodation for the next two nights, the Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge.

DAY 8 Mitchell Falls, Helicopter Flight

The stunning Mitchell Falls are one of the Kimberley's most popular attractions, this beautiful four tiered waterfall that cascades into a deep pool depicts the rugged beauty of the remote and vast Kimberley, this picturesque oasis set amid dramatic red rock escarpments is the highlight of the wonderful Mitchell Plateau.

Hike up to Mitchell Falls with a local Indigenous guide (where possible) and enjoy a helicopter flight over Mitchell falls back to the vehicle.

After breakfast, hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rock art before continuing to Big Mertens Falls and then arriving at Mitchell Falls. Enjoy a swim in the river before a helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls back o the vehicle. Alternatively you can choose to hike back with your guide.

DAY 9 Gibb River Road, El Questro Wilderness Park

The Gibb River Road takes you an an outback adventure through the spectacular scenery of the vast and remote Kimberley region, definitive Australia passes your window, red earth, ochre rock escarpments, vast endless savannahs and plains, creeks and gullies, gorges and valleys, ruggedly beautiful, an ancient landscape, wild and untamed.

Leave the Mitchell Plateau and head to El Questro Wilderness Park. Stay in El Questro for the next two nights.

Rejoin the Gibb River Road and continue to the Ford and Pentecost Rivers. Reach El Questro Wilderness Park and stay two nights at the Emma Gorge Resort in El Questro.

DAY 10 El Questro Wilderness Park

El Questro lies at the eastern end of the rugged Gibb River Road, this world renowned million -acre wilderness park is home to the three main settlements, the exquisite El Questro Homestead, Emma Gorge Resort and the Station Township Bungalows, popular activities here include, swimming, fishing, boating, horse-riding and bush walking.

Explore El Questro today and discover its gorges and springs.

Explore El Questro with a local ranger today. Take a cruise along Chamberlain Gorge and after lunch head to Zebedee Springs, a permanent natural thermal spring. Later, return to Emma Gorge and enjoy dinner.

DAY 11 Purnululu National Park, Echidna Chasm

Travel into Purunulu National Park and discover the sheer magnitude of the park. Hike to Echidna Chasm and continue to the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge.

Journey deep into the heart of Purunulu National Park and travel along the Spring Creek Track. Hike to Echidna Chasm, a narrow, deep cleft in the rock. Later continue to the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, your accommodation for the next two nights for dinner.

DAY 12 Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge

Explore Purnululu National Park and the Bungle Bungles. Visit Cathedral Gorge and later enjoy sunset drinks and a sunset over the Bungle Bungles.

Walk along Piccaninny Creek through the Bungle Bungles. Stop at Cathedral Gorge, a massive natural amphitheatre. Marvel at the domes while your guide brings to life the history of the range. Enjoy sunset drinks at the Bungle Bungles before returning to the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge for the night.

DAY 13 Ord River, Lake Kununurra

The Ord River lies in the vast Kimberley region of Western Australia, this majestic river is one of WA's most scenic and picturesque waterways, cruise its waters spotting for wildlife such as birds and crocodiles, fish for barramundi and canoe between towering gorges, the Ord River Dam created nearby Lake Argyle, Australia's biggest freshwater lake.

Travel through the rugged landscapes to Kununurra and explore the town before heading to your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast take a Katherine Gorge cruise and learn about the music, stories and ways of the Jawoyn people. Continue to Kakadu, Australia’s most famous national park. Travel to Nourlangie Rock to view Aboriginal rock art, cruise down the Yellow Water Billabong and learn about how the Bininj people use flora and fauna to support their way of life. Travel into Arnhem Land and discover a region normally inaccessible to most travellers. Later, return to Kakadu and enjoy a campfire with your fellow travellers in the wilderness.

Cross the East Alligator River with a local guide into Arnhem land and discover this amazing region. Experience the art and natural beauty of the area and in the afternoon return to Kakadu and enjoy the art and billabongs of Cannon hill and Hawk Dreaming. DAY 17 Guluyambi Cruise, Ubirr Rock Art, Darwin
